We went there because it seemed suitable for a disabled uncle. We were taking an elderly uncle in a wheelchair to see Florence and wanted easy access to the hotel and room as well. It was well situated and near to restaurants and the staff were helpful. There was a lift and we were able to use the wheelchair along the corridor and leave it in the hotel room at night. Also we wanted a walk in shower because he is unable to use a bath. Our only problems were that he didn't feel safe on the tiled floors and so could have done with a slip mat and also the weather turned colder and there was no heating on in the hotel.
The hotel is in a good location, near well-known landmarks yet only a straight 15 minute walk from the station. Staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. There are combination safes in the rooms. Breakfast was good in a very pleasant, airy room. The lift which takes you up the two floors to the hotel is quite a novelty.
Location was great: very close to Maria Novella station and within 10mn walking of Duomo and Uffizi. Safe and pleasant neighbourhood. Staff was friendly and prebooked us into the Uffizi. Room was spacious, clean with working air con and bathroom although a bit on the small side had everything you needed. Quaint elevator!
Breakfast was not fancy but coffee and croissants were good. Only problem is that it was served from 8am onwards only which meant we missed out on it on our last day as we had to leave by 7.45am. Small television with only Italian channels
Nothing in particular, my experience with Hotel Goldoni was rather disappointing, given the expectations I had according to the reviews on Booked.net at booking time.
I had a single room, which was quite small and shabby (wall paper coming off the walls, missing ceiling boards at the entrance). The bathroom was uncomfortably small, the room service was rather poor (bed sheets and towels have been changed only once during a week, at some point I was left without soap, I had to ask for it at the reception desk). The breakfast was poor (no meat, eggs or vegetables, some corn flakes, milk, low quality cheese and jam) and lacked diversity. The tipping point was a morning breakfast with stone-like, hard bread rolls (probably a week old). Bottom line, quite an unpleasant experience.
excellent staff ，help with everyth:))))
